Construction Contracts The construction industry is unique in many ways. One of the most visible differences between the construction industry and other industries is the complexity of contractual arrangements. A contract is sustained by the documents in which it's terms and conditions are stated, and which with it's existence can be proven. A construction contract is usually formed with the help of many documents. These include:
The Canadian government has approved a set of documents that are shared across the industry. The Canadian Construction Document, consists of a set of documents, approved by the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) and commonly referred to as the CCDC2 set of documents. For further reading about the CCDC2 set of documents visit the Canadian Construction Association website. At Cobrell everything we do is based around our set of ISO certified and managed documentation. This ensures that our clients know exactly what service is to be provided when, and at what cost. Most importantly it represents a voluntary agreement between Cobrell and our clients over a specific project. These contracts have been put together by the CCA to protect clients, architects, owners and builders. If you have any questions or would like to have a brief consultation with Cobrell about your options, give us a call at 519-685-9677 or send us an email at service@cobrell.com.
